Mental Health

Sess1-171-(1)

We decided to focus on mental health as a concept and actually help devise ways of making sure one is aware of their mental health state. Instead of focusing on mental health disorders as is the norm. We found it important for everyone to know what their mental state is. We started off wanting to start off by sharing daily facts on our personal pages and talking to our friends about it.

Having gone through the program we found different action points within the system that make it easier to actually impact the change we wanted to see. We defined smaller target groups in Nairobi by focusing on high schools and clubs in which we would conduct seminars and exercise training. The SAYDS Program helped us understand the problem we were tackling and the enablers of the issue. Rooting out the issue was therefore easier because we already understood how to approach our problem. Through SAYDS we were able to acquire systems thinking skills and design a systemic intervention that can be implemented in our immediate community, local and national government.
